Q: How can I get into a program? A: To get into the Food Monster Program you must attend the half day Food Monster orientation workshop. The workshop schedule is posted on our Events page. Q: Can I just walk in and join a group? A: No. You must attend the orientation workshop. The orientation workshop is truly educational and full of information that you will need to successfully be engaged in the program. Q: Does attending the workshop commit me to anything? A: No, the workshop is completely free of any obligation. It is perfectly fine for you to attend the workshop and decide that the Food Monster Program is not for you at this time. Q: How is the program structured? A: The program consists of women only classes, ranging in size from 7 to 14 participants with one Facilitator. Each class will consist of seven components: 1. the welcome, 2. the “motivational moments”, 3. a Food Monster activity, 4. a Food Monster information topic, 5. a life lesson with success strategies, 6. the Q & A/Homework section, and 7. the closing. Q: What is the commitment – how long does the program last. A: The Food Monster Program lasts for 16 weeks. The groups meet once a week for one hour and work through the 7 program components. Each person has a personalized, individualized program with homework that normally takes 10 to 20 minutes daily. Q: How soon will I begin to see results? A: The results come in three areas. - Weight loss
- Improved emotions associated with overweight, weight loss, and the situations that cause overweight. That is, reduced stress around these issues.
- Reduced anxiety around eating.
While individual results vary, most people begin to see dramatic reduction of stress virtually immediately. Most people begin to see a reduction in that constant gnawing anxiety around food in the first week. Also, most people begin to see weight loss in the first week. Q: How fast will I lose the weight?
A: Most people lose weight at a safe and healthy rate of 1 to 2 pounds per week. And that is while they continue to eat their favorite foods! No diets, no exercise, no pills. |
